Sale events
The sale calendar, with the parts I cannot verify left out.
Retail sale events are the one thing tracked price history cannot see coming: it reads prices, it does not read promotion pages, and it has no opinion about whether you personally qualify for the number on the screen. So each of these is hand work. This page is the standing list of which ones I watch and how far the verification has actually got.
Events with coverage
Tracked, not covered
These are on the list and have no page, which is the honest state of them. A page here exists only once a human has read the organizer's own terms and written something a reader could act on; until then a route would be a heading and a guess. They are named anyway, because what is being watched is itself worth knowing.
- — Amazon Prime Day (Amazon) — Fragrance appears, but the marketplace listing rather than the retailer is the unit that has to be verified, and seller identity matters more than the price does.
- — Target Circle Week (Target) — Beauty is central to the event; whether fragrance is inside the beauty scope has to be confirmed from the event terms each time.
- — Sephora Savings Event (Sephora) — Fragrance is generally included, but the amount taken off is tiered by loyalty status, which changes the answer for most readers.
- — Ulta 21 Days of Beauty (Ulta Beauty) — A rotating daily item, occasionally fragrance; each day is a separate offer with its own stock and its own end time.
- — Macy's sale events (Macy's) — Fragrance is a standing category in the sale events, but the terms and the exclusions have never yet been readable enough to verify.
What an event page is, and is not
Each event has one stable address that gets reused every year, rather than a fresh page each season that goes stale a month later. Before an event, the page is preparation: what is confirmed, what is not, and what a price has to survive before I write about it. Afterwards it becomes an archive and stops implying anything is still on sale.
The actual picks never live here. They live in dated Issues, stamped with the day the price was observed, and the event page links to them. Keeping those apart is what stops an old price from quietly presenting itself as a current one.
